W163DR

The Avtex W163DR is probably our best selling TV.

Avtex lead the way in the 12 volt tv market, and are one of, if not THE only TV manufacturer who make a tv specifically for use in the caravan/motorhome.

This short review shows how easy it is to tune the tv in for freeview-as we are asked this many times by our customers.

Included in the package is the 12V cable to connect up to the TV when on a site where there is no Electric Hook up (EHU) and you need to power the tv off your leisure battery (pic below)

You also get the "mains" 240 Volt adapter that will be used when your caravan is hooked up to EHU, or you wish to use in the house.

Out of the box the W163DR will need the stand connecting, simply screw on using the grub screw provided.

Once asembled your TV will be ready to use.

You can see on the picture below the various inputs available on the W163DR:

RF In=Input for Aerial

VGA=Use your Avtex as a PC Monitor, this is the input for this.

HDMI in 1/2=Connect any HD device such as Blu-Ray player

PC Audio in=Connect external speakers

Scart=Connect external devices such as Sky Box

One of the best features found on the Avtex W163D, and indeed the 2010 range of Avtex TV's is the Avtex Quick Tune Button (AQT) found on the remote control, easily identifiable by the orange button

Once you have your aerial connected up, simply press and hold this button to get an automatic scan of the digital or analogue TV reception. The picture below shows a scan mid range. You can clearly see the TV has located 41 TV stations and 8 Digital radio stations:

Once the scan has completed, you can then see what TV stations are available using the Electronic TV Guide (EPG) with this you can see what is on for the day on the various stations.

It's as simple as that!
